Privacy Policy
This policy explains how 22Pursuit ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses your personal data when you use this website, subscribe to The Daily Pursuit, share a "My Pursuit" submission, send us a message, or place an order. We follow the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is 22Pursuit. You can contact us about privacy at getintouch@22pursuit.com.
What we collect and why
| Where | Data | Why / lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| The Daily Pursuit signup | Email address | To send you the newsletter — consent. |
| "My Pursuit" form | Your message, and if you fill them in: your name, age, sex and location. If you share anonymously your name is never shown, but your age, sex and location are shown with your story if you gave them. | So we can receive and read what you chose to share — consent. Providing this is entirely voluntary. |
| Orders (via Stripe) | Name, email, phone number, delivery address, any delivery notes, items and amount. These are saved when you press "Continue to payment", before you pay, so we can match your payment to your order. | To fulfil your order — performance of a contract; and to keep tax records — legal obligation. |
| "Get in touch" form | Your name, email address, the subject and your message. | To read and reply to your message — legitimate interests (answering the people who contact us). |
| Anti-spam | A small counter stored in your browser | To limit repeat form submissions — legitimate interests (keeping the site usable). |
| The lift game | Your game results (lift, reps, weight, level, whether it was a new personal best), which share button you used, and whether you're on a phone or a computer. Only if you choose "Accept all": a random game ID. We don't store your name, email or IP address with it. | To count plays, records and shares and improve the game — legitimate interests; the random game ID only with your consent. |
| Visiting the site | Which pages you view, the site or app that sent you (for example Instagram), whether you're on a phone or a computer, and steps towards buying (added to bag, opened checkout, placed the order). No cookies are used. To count different visitors, our database makes an anonymous code from your connection and browser that changes every day; your IP address itself is not stored. | To see how many people visit and where shoppers drop off, so we can improve the site — legitimate interests. |
We do not see or store your card details — payments are handled entirely by Stripe. Please don't include sensitive personal information in a "My Pursuit" message unless you're comfortable sharing it; anything you write there is shared voluntarily.
Who we share it with
We only share data with the service providers that help us run 22Pursuit, and only as far as needed:
- Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/privacy).
- Namecheap — website hosting and our email (Private Email), used to send order, shipping and newsletter emails (namecheap.com privacy).
- Supabase — securely stores our products, orders, newsletter subscribers, the stories people submit, contact messages, anonymous lift-game stats and anonymous visitor counts (supabase.com/privacy).
- Google — Google Fonts serves the site's fonts (policies.google.com/privacy). When an order, sign-up, story or message arrives, a short notification is sent to our own admin phone through the phone's push service (Google for Android); it is encrypted so that only our phone can read it.
- jsDelivr — serves a code library the shop uses to talk to our database; like any web server it may log your IP address when sending the file (jsdelivr.com privacy).
- Royal Mail / parcelsapp.com — when you use "Track your order", your tracking number is sent to Royal Mail's tracking page (or to parcelsapp.com for other couriers) in a new tab.
We never sell your personal data. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they rely on appropriate safeguards (such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Standard Contractual Clauses).
How long we keep it
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Contact messages: until we've answered and they're no longer needed, then deleted (or sooner if you ask).
- Orders: up to 6 years, to meet UK tax and accounting rules.
- My Pursuit submissions: until you ask us to delete them, or until they're no longer needed.
- Lift game stats: until they're no longer needed to improve the game.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time (this won't affect processing already carried out). To exercise any of these, email getintouch@22pursuit.com and we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
Children
This site and our products are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Cookies
See our Cookie Policy for how we use cookies and browser storage.
